Ghent is a historic, medium-sized city with a strong reputation for progressive mobility policies, including an ambitious circulation plan and extensive cycling and pedestrian infrastructure. Despite these advances, everyday mobility choices still reveal tensions between car use, accessibility, and safety. The Civic Lab explores how 15-minute city principles can be further embedded by strengthening walkability, improving everyday cycling routes, and enhancing safe, child-friendly connections to schools and local services.
